It is the policy of MESA to provide a safe and healthful environment, in which our employees can work, provide the best safety equipment available and to train employees in safe operation procedures. Furthermore, it is our policy to maintain and enforce safety and health regulations established by state, local and federal governmental agencies, as well as those of our customers.
Our corporate safety manual documents health and safety policy, procedure and rules based on extensive experience and technical knowledge in the environmental industry. Safety meetings are conducted at least monthly for management, supervision, leadmen and laborers. Tailgate safety meetings are held at the start of each job, at least once a week, anytime there is a change in the scope of work or a change in the crew personnel. Formal classroom and on-the-job training is given in areas such as confined space entry, respiratory protection, Hazwoper, general safety, CPR, First-aid and lockout-tagout.
Employees that may have potential exposures to hazardous materials or that may have to wear respiratory equipment are given full comprehensive medical examinations. This medical surveillance program is complimented with noise and industrial hygiene surveys to ensure the continued overall health and safety of our personnel.
The combination of technically qualified and experienced personnel, proven policies and modern equipment enables MESA to safely and efficiently accomplish heavyduty industrial and marine cleaning, environmental spill response and hazardous waste management.
